Hase-dera Temple in Nara, the head temple of the Buzan branch of the Shingon sect of Buddhism, is known for its flower gardens, long ascending corridors, and main hall built in the kakezukuri (overhang) style. The fragrance of cherry blossoms in full bloom wafts through the temple precincts.
